May 2021 Recap

The plum tree bloomed this month, I hurried to take some photos before it left.

//I can't believe how fast this month went! During the warmer summer months my schedule gets really crowded ☹ So that's why I'm posting this sooo late. I hope I can still find time to post!\\

||My Life||

Alone: My younger sister, Sarah, got confirmed this month, and after that celebration our grandparents took her, Eva and Carrie back to Minnesoda with them for a week. I didn't go because of my vendor show on the 15th, but it was okay, I relished the solitude to be completely honest.

The Marketplace Event: The Vendor show in Lisbon was actually not bad for our first gig, It was kind of boring at times, but It's always fun to hang out with Clarissa and Jerod, and we actually sold some stuff (Not a lot, but we actually sold stuff)

Back to the Ranch: For those of you who don't know, I've worked at a local-ish Pizza Ranch for a couple of years, With Clarissa and Noah. My boss used to be Kyle, an interesting guy. But both of my siblings quit when Kyle moved to a PR in Aberdeen, South Dakota and his sister, Jess, took over. I then didn't have a ride to get to my job, so I had to call it quits for awhile until I did. Almost a year or something later I've come back, as well as Clarissa, and Sarah, who just turned 14 in April. But now (I'm sorry this is such a long speech) Jess is also moving, and who's taking over is Jerod's brother, and His girlfriend Tyann is now the owner! So now I have a new-new boss, and I hope it works out.

(Kind of this month but whatever)
Driver's Education: Sarah and I have driver's ed all week, We've been through two days and I already want to die. From 8am-2pm, with small breaks, but still mostly sitting in a chair all day. What I wanna know is how the heck do people - no, kids manage to do that every day for most of the year!? It's small and cramped and filled with loud strangers, I find it hard to focus let alone learn when everything is a terrible situation for both of those. I'm bored, stressed, head-ached and I constantly feel like I need to stretch, but, wait, I can't do that because It would be rude to the kid sitting behind me. So, yeah, pray for my fortitude with that issue.

||Read||

Ahhh man, my reading for this month was kind of all over the place. I started out with Frankenstien but I lost the book and I don't understand where. I read Stargirl but kind of unintentionally.

I also started like, four other books but didn't finish any. It's probably excusable because my schedule was so hectic. I'm still sad about Frankenstien though.
||Watched||

Again, not much for this catagory on account of me being busy. I watched Good Burger just because It's a comfort movie and I love it. I finished Trollhunters and it broke me. I never changed my "now watching/reading" gadgets but it's probably fine. Throw in a few episodes of 3-Below here and there and that's pretty much all I watched this month.

||Creations||

My new sketchbook has been turning out pretty good, but my camera's been acting up lately so I can't show you the awesome goache painting I made.
I made a lot of jewelry, so I won't post all the pictures, but here's some:

Meraki now has a facebook page if your interested, I think Jerod did a great job! Meraki's Facebook Page
||Blogging||

I made 3 total posts this month:

Behind the Blogger Tag!   got the most views (17!)

||This Month||

I'm going to another (yay!) vendor show on the 17th in Lisbon for "Lisbon Happy Days"

I'm thinking about posting some poetry and also the sketchbook tour I've been thinking about posting.

Otherwise just trying to survive, finish Driver's Ed and going to work, prepare for the vendor show.

Three Things About Moi:
1.
I am mentally a child. Or a sassy old woman. I am pretty child-ish inside, if you happen to know what it's like inside my protective shell. The other day my mom walked in on me watching Trollhunters, "Why do you only watch cartoons?" she asks. (I don't only watch cartoons, but I kinda was binge-watching this show every night for awhile)  I said nothing, besides the stardard "idk", but I felt pretty childish. My younger sisters tell me I'm like an old lady quite a lot too.
I tend to be more grumpy and quiet, but to select few I'm quite peppy.

2.
I want to have a halloween party. So. Bad. I made a playlist and everything. And yes, I know it's May.

Sometimes I wish I had a bunch of friends who'd want to go.
3.
For some reason lately, I keep talking in a spanish accent.
It is becoming a problem.
Best Posts:
I don't know about them being my best posts, but they're my favorite so far.

Elizabeth's Questions

What is the first pairing you remember shipping?
I was...a child. Have any of you guys ever read Falcon Quinn and the Black Mirror? I read said story when I was younger and I loved it. I drew almost every character from it (back when I was first getting into drawing). And the ships! Megan and Falcon. Destinee and Weems. Max and Pearl. Hardly enough boats for all these ships. I shipped so many people in this book, in the cute, creepy little kid way.
What is the weirdest, most unusual or one of a kind thing you own?
This is a hard one indeed. I have a lot of one of a kind things, some not worth mentioning. Some unusual things...I have a collection of skeleton keys, some old and rusty. I have a huge block of rose quartz, and a huge block of aventurine. A small book of scribbled songs I wrote. The birthmark on my arm. The vintage avon ring Clarissa gave me.
If you had a suprise birthday being thrown for you, what are 3 fictional characters you would want to be there and why?
Why, are you planning something? πŸ€¨ Kidding. Totally kidding. Ah, there's a lot of people I'd want to meet, so I guess my answers might be just currently, subject to change.
 Dustin from Stranger Things
It'd be fun to meet him, fun to have at a party.
Krel from 3 Below
I'd love to meet Krel, I'd have him as a DJ.
Sokka from Avatar
Oh Sokka, what a party animal, or Zuko, I'd love to have Zuko there, any way we can get both?
 All boys, I guess, but like I said, subject to change.
If you could steal a costume from a show/movie, which one would you take?
Ohhh boy. You ask such good questions!
Maybe something from Gone with the Wind

Or one of Morgana's dresses

There was a few others, but I forgot, and I don't need to make this posting so long. πŸ˜…
What was the last line in a book, line in a movie, or lyric in a song that hit you hard?
Lately (and in truth, ever since I paid close attention to these lyrics) I been thinking about the words in Neon Gravestones by Twenty One Pilots. These last words are really profound and bring this song it's conclusion. I've been inspired by this song to make art to hang on my wall, but I never got the chance, (or a canvas, for that matter) so I'm still wanting to do something related.
"Find your grandparents or someone of age
Pay some respect for the path that they paved
To life they were dedicated
Now that should be celebrated"
I nominate:
and!
You, reading this right now!
 (10+ people unfortunatly wouldn't work, everyone who reads this blog I think has already done the tag. So if you haven't done it yet, feel duely nominated!)
My Questions
What is something you do that makes you feel childish?
What are some things you find overrated?
Favorite guilty pleasures?
Song(s) that makes you cry every time?
Hobby you're the best at?
Let me know if you do it!

Siames - My Favorite Bands - May 6, 2021

 Heyo! I'm back, and I'm excited to do a posting about probably my favorite band (its definetly in the top five),
SiamΓ©s!
SiamΓ©s (see-ah-mes) is based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. They sing in english, and are influenced by japanese style and art. They're actually pretty new, seven years old. The first song I ever heard was "The Wolf", I heard in on a project on Scratch years ago. I then watched the animated video, which went viral on Youtube, with 2 Million views within the first month of it's release.
The comment sections of these songs are really cool, and everybody has their own theories, so it's really fun to read them.
I think this song is about struggling with addiction, the alcoholism and smoking. I'm not sure if the man on the motorcycle is an adrenaline junkie or is running from something else, It's a little unclear, But at the end he is the first to stand up and fight.
After that I've been pretty obsessed. I can't say there's a song out from them yet that I dislike.
When I first saw "Mr. Fear" I liked the song, but I thought the video was a little creepy. The more I watched it though, the more I loved both the song and the video. That seems to happen a lot with this band, sometimes if I don't really care for one of the songs, a few more listens and I love it.
"Mr. Fear" eventually became one my favorites. I even have a poster of it in my room. This song has it's theories, like the others. I'm not really sure with this one, seems to me like a relationship that's damaging to the things around them, but they don't ever end it, but I'm more interested in the less metaphorical side of this video, like what happens to the characters after the song is over. This video left me with so many questions, and I bet it'll do the same to you.
"Summer Nights" (2020) Is their other animated music video, I didn't really love it like I loved The Wolf and Mr. Fear, but It's still a really great song.

I don't have any really interesting theories for "Summer Nights" but notice: Their clothes and possibly their ages change after the blond girl's star appears.
Some other of my favorite songs from them, all their other songs are great, don't forget to check them out! But since I'm sure you don't want to keep this tab open forever to listen to 22 songs, I'll only post a few.
"As You Get High"

"Firestorm"

"Young and Restless"

"2 Feathers"

And one of their new-er songs,
"Always the Same"

I really hoped you liked this band, and will check it out if you got time.

πŸ‘½Thanks for ReadingπŸ‘½

Behind The Blogger Tag!

Flowers my sister's boyfriend got for her, Jerod (Said boyfriend) also got a rose for each Carrie and Sarah for playing in my mom's recital, and a vase of red roses for my mom. What a (flower) guy!
Praecepta:
Thank the person who nominated you. (Thank you Elizabeth!)

Answer the questions.

Ping back to the creator: Ellyn of Allonsythornraxx

Nominate 5+ bloggers to do the tag. (I have four followers, and I think a lot of you have done this already, so I'm not sure how many I can nominate)

Why did you start blogging, and why have you kept blogging?

To be completely honest, before all this, "blog" wasn't really a prominent word in my vocabulary. I didn't know anything about them, how they worked, not even that my own sister had once had one. That all changed when I added Blogging for Teens by John W. Gosney to the huge pile of books I picked up at my local library. I really don't know what compelled me to do so...curiousity, I guess. I read it and was like, "Wow, there's this whole world I had no idea about". I wanted to get a blog, but I wasn't quite sure how to go about it, and how revelent my new book was, being published in 2004. 'Blogger' the website wasn't really my first choice, or my second, honestly. I got frustrated with the whole thing and spent an unhealthy amount of time trying to make things work. When blogger ended up being my only option, it turned out to be the perfect option. SO, in the end, this disaster ensued.

The reason I've kept on is mostly because I'm pretty new and still testing the waters. I seem to like it a lot, but I don't trust myself πŸ™ƒ.

What is your favorite kind of blog post to write?

I really enjoy sharing music with people through my blog, so that's probably my favorite kind. I also like just a bunch of random creations mushed together in one big creative explosion. I'm new to tags, but so far I love them!

What are your top three favorite blog posts?

Most definetly going to come back and change this, because I don't have that many posts, but, so far:

If I Was a Fictional Character Tag (still mad about the white highlighter though)

Top 5 Songs I'm Listening to This Month/Some Discussion

Some Random Creations

What are some of your favorite things to do to relax?

Draw (without art block, please!) Read, listen to music, walking through the trees, sing, pinterest.

What are three of your favorite things?

Three, why three? *is visibly stressed*

Things that glow in the dark, Good fanart, Jesus. (Kind of two random things and something that's really important, I know, I panicked)

What are your proudest blogging moments?

When I finish a posting, and everything looks nice and tidy, and I have high hopes that it'll get positive feedback.

When someone comments πŸ’—.

When I put all that stuff on the side of my blog, and It looked really spiffy.

What are your hobbies outside of blogging?

Drawing, Writing (poems, songs, stories) Making dollhouses, painting, shopping, embroidering, making jewelry, penpalling, collecting music boxes...There's kind of a lot. Heheh...

Describe your personality in three words

Contradictory, secretive, fastidious.

What are your top three pet peeves?

Having to clean up something before using it, (and wondering Is everyone slobs or am I just obsessive?)

My brothers acting like they're better than everyone else.

If I don't get something done and I have to keep writing it on a list every day. (I write lists every night for the day ahead)

What is something your followers don't know about you?

I...love...Graffiti and street art! I said it, and I don't mean the profanities sprayed on that one guy's shop window, I mean like...

Credit to the artists, these images came from pinterest.
ART!
Okay that was a lot of photos, I hope you like. I also watch some guys on youtube who do some pretty cool art. Check them out sometime, if you feel like it.
Whew, I didn't know I was gonna do this all in one sitting, but it is now 8pm and my butt hurts, so I guess its been awhile πŸ˜…
I nominate MovieCritic If you haven't done it already. And anyone else who reads this who hasn't done this yet, feel freely nominated!

πŸ‘½ Thanks for reading! πŸ‘½

April 2021 Recap

//Hi! 'Tis officially May...uh yay! This is my first recap ever so I hope I get this right.\\

||My life||

Went to my Grandparent's for the first time in a year for Easter. Funfun...

Went to Campas days at FLBS. My sister, Clarissa, went to this school back in 2016 (Doesn't seem like five years ago, does it?) Though I'm pretty sure I wont be going to a bible college, It was an experience. It was a confusing mixture of awe, loneliness, bliss and panic. I'm really sad I didn't get any pictures πŸ˜‘

Got a new poster for one of my favorite bands, Siames, have you heard of them? If you haven't, I should do a posting about them or something! We'll see.

||Read||

The Boy With Words for Skin by Jacob Seifert. 9/10. Interesting, Dark, Spooky, weird, and way too many cliffhangers. I loved it. I would've given It 10/10, my issues with it are that the author seems to make fun of one of the characters for being a Christian, And that the ending could've explained more. Honestly a very good book, almost gives me hope that everything on wattpad is not completely horrible.
Pride and Prejudice
Yes, yes, I finally read it. And it was.......Awesome!
10/10 pretty much what I was expecting. Such a beautiful piece of literature. The witty conversations were so awesome and refreshing. A lot of you have read this already, so I wont go into the details.

||Watched||

I didn't really watch that many movies this month. One I can remember is Runaway Bride with Julia Roberts and Richard Gere. This movie what definetly not what I thought It was going to be. 5/10 Plot was kind of predictable, their was some pretty funny moments though. 'Ike' was really kind of creepy, especially since he looks way older that the main character. It was an okay movie, I neither hate it nor love it.
I watched like 3/4 of Captain Marvel, so I can't really write about it I guess.
I was hoping to get to watch season two of The Chosen but the episodes are coming out one by one, and I much rather binge watch the whole thing, so personally I'm gonna wait.

||Creations||

Did this piece and I am quite proud of it. Took me quite a while to get back in swing with my watercolors, but I think I did okay. The paper in the sketchbook is so not watercolor friendly though πŸ™„

Some Jewelry I made this April...

||Blogging||

Did the "If was a Fictional Character" thing, and quite enjoyed it.

This month I got the most views I've got....ever! So thats really exciting. The post that got the most views this month is one about Film Music that got 14 views! 😊

||This Month||

If all goes well, Clarissa and I are going to sell some of our products on May 15. Pray this goes well! I will probably make a posting about it, hopefully with pictures.

(Again) Thinking about making a posting about Siames. If not probably another music posting in some form or other.

I got tagged for the "Behind the Blogger" tag (Thanks Elizabeth!), so I'm trying to get on that right away.

I also finished my sketchbook this week so maybe I'll have a sketchbook tour this month.

||How was your April? Do anythin' fun? Thanks for reading!||

If I Was a Fictional Character

|| Hello Again, thanks for visiting my blog, today I will be doing one of my new favorite kind of postings, the If I was a Fictional Character tag-ish thing. I read McKayla's and soon found myself lost in a rabbit hole. Here are the ones I read: McKayla's, Samantha's, Mary Kate's, I'm hoping I don't get awkward and ruin it, so here goes nothin'||

1.

Share a snippet that Involves a Desciption of Their Appearence
The girl finished nailing the board unto the small shack, then, slightly irritated, adjusts her earbuds better into her ear. Assessing her progress, She smiles widely, making wrinkles around her bright green eyes. They would be her favorite feature, setting her apart from the rest of her family, who all shared a wintry blue. She also had brown, permed out hair, about mid-length and sticking out in odd directions from the curl. Her complexion is a soft brown, lightly tanned, and devoid of makeup (too much work, uncomfortable to wear, the list of excuses goes on). As she walks down the wooded path home, she shivers in the spring air and adjusts her oversized forest green sweater, which she wears over her black graphic t-shirt and black pants. Then she walks home, and picking up the black fluffy cat hiding behind a tree, and carriying him home.
5 Ways to Win Her Friendship
1. Be Weird - Seriously, being normal is an illusion created by boring people, get into it!
2. Be interested in one of her fandoms, even in the smallest way, like looking at her fandoms board on pinterest or listening to her favorite band.
3. Give her stuff - honestly, not saying you should bribe, but food, books and art supplies are one road to her heart πŸ˜„
4. Watch tv with her - She is a very empathetic and likes to think about how others are feeling in response to different situations. Watching her favorite television gives her opportunities to feel things vicariously.
5. Be sincere - She hates it when people are fake. Be honest and open, but be kind.
Favorite Type of Weather
Varies a bit. She loves violent thunderstorms as well as gentle rain and as much as a serene sunny day.

Food Quirks
 She spreads miracle whip on every sandwich ever (I make all of my sandwiches with mayonnaise - White 'n Nerdy-Weird Al). Also thinks every savory food is better with onions.
Eats everything bagels regually at midnight. Loves all citrus excepting limes.
How often do they smile? Would they smile at a stranger?
She, in fact, has a smile reserved for certain strangers. If she smiles crazlily at you with a wild look in her eyes, it's best to smile and look away, before she gives you the "Mr. Bean thumbs up".

If they could travel anywhere in the world, where would they go?
 She's dreamed of going to Paris, France since she was a small child, but would also like to go to New Zealand, Rome, Japan, and Scoland.
What's their favorite food?
Lemons, Strawberries, Strawberry lemonade, and chocolate chip cookies.
What is the most humiliating event of their life?
 She doesn't prefer to um, dwell on these kinds of things.
What habits, speech patterns, etc. are unique to them?
 "Shucky darn"
 Screams while running up the stairs - I know, weird
Constant singing
"Jazzy" "Classy" "Spiffy" "Snazzy"
Yelling at the characters on TV when nobody else is around
Replying to her singing (ex. Sings-"No replyy at aaaall" Answers herself- "why no reply? That's kinda ruuuude")
"Yeah, well, okay"
Are they a night owl or a morning person?
 A night owl, but forces herself to go to bed and get up in the morning.
Describe your character's personality first in one word, then elaborate with a few sentences
(My sister, when I asked her this: "Just look up synonyms for crazy")
Probably....confusing (sorry folks that's the best I got) She confuses both herself and others with her inconsistency. Sometimes acting hyper and giddy when inside feels tired and depressed, and other times acting bored and emotionless when she's actually smiling on the inside. Somes not caring at all what people think an other times wishing she could fade into the background. (Dude, that was deep πŸ˜‚)
What sights, sounds, and smells are unique to this character?
Smoke from the woodstove and rain are her favorite smells. Also connected to her may be the smell of a house in progress - taping mud, wood and woodshavings, paint and all (Her father was/is a carpentar).
It is common for her to be looking upon the prairie, miles and miles of grass, cattails, treelines and swamps.
This sound has surronded her for her whole life up 'til now. Now days it's played almost every other day. She's a fan of Chopin and his nocturnes, and they go best with a rainy day.

If they were an element [fire, water, earth, air], which one would they be?
She is passionate and emotional, and belives 'twould be most likely Fire.
Quirks
Has an imaginary conversation in her head and then blurts out something random from it
Figety.
Loves wearing Alien socks.
Bit of a neat freak and is pretty ocd and fastidious about some things.
Socially awkward when she's not with her family or Bff (Is that a quirk?)
Always has the tv volume at a multiple of five.
Leaves little notes inside books at the library for future readers.
Has utter distain for anything popular
Puts post-its on her art that she hates-but doesn't want to earase.
This was pretty fun. I think you can just do this if you want to. Thank you  for reading! I hope you enjoyed! Post your comments below 😊 ||And another thing, if any of you know how to get the white highlighter off of the words, let me know, 'twould be very helpful!||

Film Music YOU Need to Listen to- April 8, 2021

Hello lovelies! Today I'm here to tell you about five songs from television that are just great, whether you've watched the show or not (but seriously, watch the show anyway because I probably love it) Let's get into it!

Starting off with something from something from one of the most *beautiful* movies in my book, Lord of the Rings. This song has always been somewhat of a home-like and comforting, not only because I was (and still am) obsessed with LOTR as a child, but also the fact that in the movie, it's supposed to remind you of the shire, the comforting, sunny, green place hobbits come from.

Next up is one of my favorite songs from BBCs Merlin (love this show, watch it)

 Ice Dance from Edward Scissorhands. This is such a beautiful, whimsical song, it makes me feel like I'm in a fairy tale.

This song is just.....woah. Hard to pick but, I'd say this is my favorite song from this movie. It's just filled with so much passion and gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it.

Okay, I couldn't resist. Another Merlin song for ya. The piano though πŸ˜’

And that concludes this small posting, I really hope you enjoyed reading and I hope you'll want to  listen to the music in the future. You can also find some more music from my favorite films on Spotify. Have you watched any of these shows? Do you like them? Got any good film music to reccomend to me? Let me know in the comments πŸ‘‡πŸ˜

Happy Valentines Day
